Practice the maneuvers in the Road Skills Test Study Guide. (Remember, you can download a PDF version from the State of Michigan here.) Maneuvers you may be tested on include left turns, yield signs, and parallel parking.
Be sure the required safety equipment (such as seat belts, brake lights, headlights, airbags, and the braking system) is working on the vehicle you will be driving.
About the Road Skills Test
Vehicle Safety Check
Check that your vehicle is in safe working order and that required safety equipment is operational. (See pages 10 and 11 of the Road Skills Test Study Guide. (You can download a PDF version from the State of Michigan here.)
Basic Control Skills
You will be tested on three (3) maneuvers on the driving range to be sure that you have basic control of the vehicle and the skills necessary to proceed with the road driving test.

The on-the-road segment evaluates your ability to drive safely through a variety of traffic situations.
